Parents

Since its inception the UALA has been actively involved in the community in a number of ways. The UALA has been instrumental in working with the City of Muncie on a few key issues including: significantly reducing trash around the campus area, help solve parking issues around campus, and the distribution of useful information to residents and off-campus tenants.

The UALA hosts two (2) clean-up days each year that occur in the spring and fall. Members from our organization work from 8am to 11:15am and scour the alleys and roads around the campus area picking up trash. The City of Muncie usually provides two trash trucks during this time. In the spring of 2007 the UALA received the Traveling Push Broom Award for collecting 34,800 pounds of trash and debris during the spring cleanup day.
